On Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny left on his way some chocolate eggs in the gardens for children. In Germany (Osterhase) and in English-speaking countries, the Easter Bunny symbolises the spring and renewal. But did you know that in France there is no Easter Bunny? This is the role of "bells" to fulfil this important mission. The bells of the Catholic churches cease to ring between Maundy Thursday and Easter Day. Children are told that bells are gone to Rome. When returning, they left behind some delicious chocolate eggs for the young –and older– children. Happy Easter!
